Galleria dell’Accademia

How can you not be awed by the statue of David? I've seen him at least twice before up close; this was Jan's first time. Lots of masked, respectful folks in the galleria. I took a long look from behind. Ha. Almost ignored were the 'slave' sculptures, also by Michelangleo. Done late in his life, they are considered embodiments of souls/his soul trapped in a body and trying to break free.
